Key Stage 4
Students will engage with Media from a theoretical and practical perspective. Students learn how to analyse and understand a wide range of media products, from advertisements to video games. The course curriculum revolves around analysis of both contemporary and historical media products in order to ascertain how society’s perceptions of gender, ethnicity and sexuality have altered from the 20th Century to the 21st.
Students are assessed jointly on their understanding of the conventions of various media forms via two exams (70%), whilst also undertaking an extended project to create a product under the guidelines of a design brief (30%).
